Launching of "Rabt" Platform to Enhance Local Content and Link Industries with Government Tenders

Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Salem bin Nasser Al Aufi, the "Rabt" platform was officially launched today. This initiative represents a strategic collaboration between the General Secretariat of the Tender Board, represented by the National Local Content Office, and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, through the Industrial Innovation Academy.

The platform aims to strengthen integration between government entities and the private sector by maximizing the impact of localizing industries and linking them with government tenders and procurement. This initiative supports national products and services while enhancing their competitiveness in local markets.

The platform includes more than 5,000 industrial products and services offered by over 300 factories and companies operating in industrial cities, providing a comprehensive database to support government procurement. Additionally, the platform ensures that winning companies in tenders are required to purchase and supply local products listed in the "Mandatory List," giving them priority in usage and procurement while reinforcing government commitment to supporting national products.

Eng. Ghalib bin Amer Al Hinai, Head of the National Local Content Office, stated that the "Rabt" platform serves as a strategic tool in implementing local content policies. It facilitates the enforcement of legislation and regulations supporting national products while enabling government entities to monitor compliance with local content requirements and assess their economic impact. Moreover, the platform allows for the analysis of local supply chains, helping identify investment opportunities and strengthening connections across various industrial sectors by integrating supply chains. This initiative supports Omani companies and enables them to achieve business sustainability.

Eng. Suleiman bin Salem Al Jabri, Project Manager of the Rabt platform, emphasized that the platform's development was the result of a joint effort spanning over two years, involving multiple government and private sector entities. The project was carried out in two main phases: the first phase involved a comprehensive field survey of factories and companies operating in Madayn's industrial cities to catalog local products and determine the percentage of raw materials used in manufacturing. The second phase focused on developing and programming the platform in collaboration with a specialized company in interactive platform development and management, ensuring its efficiency and sustainability.

The platform marks a significant step in supporting the local industrial sector by providing a direct channel connecting suppliers with buyers, increasing opportunities for local businesses to grow and, in turn, strengthening the national economy. "Rabt" also serves as a key pillar in achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by promoting economic diversification, stimulating national productivity, and reinforcing policies that support local products in government projects, ensuring sustainable economic development and strengthening Oman's industrial sector.
