The State Council, represented by the Technical and Innovation Committee, hosted His Excellency Engineer Badr bin Salem Al Maamari, the Secretary-General of the Omani Tender Board, and a number of council officials to review the plans and initiatives of the Omani Tender Board regarding the support of technological infrastructure and the digital economy.

The meeting reviewed the role of the Secretariat General of the Tender Board in enhancing the technological infrastructure to support the digital economy, and its role in promoting innovation and supporting startups, and facilitating the participation of the private sector.

The meeting discussed the strategies employed to encourage private sector innovation in public projects, and existing initiatives to build capacities and enhance skills related to the digital economy.

The Legal Committee of the State Council, chaired by the Honorable Sheikh Sultan bin Matar Al Azizi, discussed the report of the Social and Cultural Committee of the Council on the draft Media Law referred by the Cabinet and the report of the Shura Council regarding it. The committee also reviewed, during its meeting, the members' views and comments on the provisions of the draft law and its articles."
