The General Secretariat of the Tender Board will organize next Monday the first forum for development projects, which will review the projects that will be tendered or take the tendering route during the current year 2024, achieving equal opportunities, tender transparency, providing basic data and information for the projects. The forum targets local companies registered with the General Secretariat of the Tender Board, with an expected participation of around 300 companies from various sectors and classification categories. The forum can be attended through live streaming on various platforms of the General Secretariat of the Tender Board.
Engineer Abdullah bin Hameed Al-Haisi, Head of Project Monitoring Office, said: "The forum is the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman and holds great importance in reviewing the government projects that will be tendered or have taken the tendering route during the current year, which fall under the system of the General Secretariat of the Tender Board." The first forum aims to facilitate competition and transparency for local companies across all categories, while providing support for small and medium-sized enterprises to seize opportunities from projects to be tendered this year. Al-Haisi explained that the forum offers better opportunities for competitive prices, resulting in financial savings for projects, along with speed and accuracy in implementation.
The forum also ensures sufficient preparation time for participating companies to understand the needs and available capabilities for projects that can be executed. Al-Haisi continued: "In addition to the mentioned importance of the forum for the future stages of Oman's development projects, it is an important opportunity for community participation to learn about the projects to be tendered within one year, along with their details and contents." The Development Projects Forum includes many axes and discussions that will enrich the forum, addressing the challenges facing companies, regulatory changes, and other details accompanying project tendering.
He pointed out that the forum targets various companies operating in the fields of civil contracting, ports, roads, dams, services, supply, maintenance, and others, allowing them opportunities for competition, partnership, and understanding the current and future directions of government projects. The projects to be tendered are diverse, including those specifically for small and medium-sized companies, as well as projects available for various grades from fourth to excellent. Moreover, the forum is not limited to companies physically present but is accessible to everyone through various platforms such as YouTube, the ISNAD platform, and the X platform.
